Weekly Reading: 10/14/2019

Does the world seem to have come to a shrieking stop as far as forward progress on your goals? Are you starting to hear the voices of doubt and negativity creep into your thoughts? Yeah, me too.  Anytime you set your goals higher than the lowest of low-hanging fruit, you will have to deal with those lulls in progress where you begin to doubt your abilities. Heck, you may even doubt the wisdom of pursuing your goal in the first place. This is where you need to turn your thoughts away from doubt and acknowledge the progress you’ve already made.

This week’s homework:

  • Take some time to assess your progress. Go back to your original plans and review what you’ve already accomplished. Are there any steps that need to be adjusted to new circumstance? Any important steps you may have missed or glossed over in favor of easier victories? Now is the time to focus on what you can do instead of what your fear tells you is impossible.

Forward progress may seem like an enormous goal, but it’s really only a thousand little actions strung together like flowers. Acknowledge the work you’ve done, stick to the plan, and just keep moving forward.
