We will be taking a short break this week, returning with new content next week. In the meantime, please enjoy this article originally posted in September, 2018. – The Two Ladies
Every so often I need to bring myself back to ground, take a deep breath, and remind myself that the world is a decent place. It’s so easy to get sucked into the negativity of the news, social media, and everyday stress. And the more I play in that world, the more it feels like the game is fixed, and everybody’s cheating.
Ain’t nobody got time for that silliness, right?
When the everyday blahs get to be too much, it’s time to dig deep into the Cosmic Toolkit, pull out a spiritual wrench, and readjust the settings. Everyone has different ways of getting back in alignment with their true spiritual selves, and no one way is better than another.
With me, the best thing I can do is get passionate about learning something. Kat calls it “our medicine,” which roughly translates to downloading episodes from Hay House Radio and listening together in the car. Last week, she downloaded a few Colette Baron-Reid episodes, including one entitled “Full Moon Madness” feature astrologist Deb Silverman. After an hour listening to the two of them talk, I felt lighter and happier than I had in months. I also discovered a few things I hadn’t know before–like the importance of Saturn in your chart.
In a matter of days, my lifelong interest in astrology has returned in force, and I’ve dived in deeper than I ever had before. (I’d love to take Deb’s class, but it’s a bit out of my financial reach at the moment.)
The bottom line is, for me, rediscovering a passion that was both positive and informative was the key to shifting my vibration to a higher level. We are all here for a reason, and it’s not to be safe and comfortable. Yes, safe and comfortable are nice. But if you’re reading a blog post called “Everyday Mysticism,” I’m willing to bet you didn’t come here to be a sleep-walking zombie. You came to this life to help with the evolution of the species, to bring light to the darkness, to help create a better world for future generations. You came to be a spiritual superhero.
It doesn’t have to be astrology. It doesn’t have to be tarot or runes or organized religion or yoga. But there is something out there that will ignite you (or reignite, as the case may be.) And no amount of safety and comfort can beat the feeling of ignited fire.
So look around. Look inside. Listen to that still, strong voice inside of you telling you that you are here for a reason. Then get to work. Wake up, my friends. There is work to be done, and joy to be had.
As my dad used to say to me, “Don’t sleep your life away.”
