Weekly Reading: 07/01/2019

As delays, frustration, and scattered energy having you losing steam, ask yourself, which came first? The lack of interest or the frustration? Now is the time to take a moment, shake off the frustration, and remind yourself why you are pursuing this goal.

This week’s homework:

  • If you are in the middle of a goal that seems to have stagnated, go back to your early efforts. Pull out your business plan, or early notes, or first drafts. Take a look at what this project was when it was still raw and new and exciting. You haven’t strayed so far from the original passion that it cannot be regained.
  • If your focus is being drawn away from your core goal by minutiae, take some time to see what tasks can be delegated. You are the creator of your own future, but you don’t have to do it all alone. Let go of the martyr complex, and look around. There is tons of help to be had, if you just allow it.

The challenge this week will be to reconnect with that which gives you passion. Cut through the stressors, the headaches, and the nonsense to remember why you are doing what you are doing. Fall in love with your goals again, and you’re going to be able to handle the stress much better.
