If you find yourself clinging too tightly to the pennies in your hand while gazing suspiciously at the good fortune falling in your lap, you may want to take a step back and breathe. Sometimes, even those of us blessed with good fortune can become frightened and needy, worried that if we loosen our grip on what we have, we will be left unprepared for future struggles. This comes from a deep fear that we simply do not have what it takes to create joy and security in our lives. When you accept that both the good and the bad things in your life are transitory and cyclical, you will be able to release that tight hold you have on your happiness and allow the natural ebb and flow to begin once more.
