Weekly Reading: 1/15/2018

Spread1152018Sometimes, I lay down the cards and just have to pause and say, “Whoa…..”

You’ll notice there are five cards in this spread instead of three–that’s because Justice and The Sun jumped out of the deck when I was pulling position one and three. When a card jumps out of the deck at you, you pay attention. And these are some powerful cards indeed.

If you have been couching your wisdom in an unhealthy false veneer in order to “keep the peace,” it is time to rip off the mask and speak your truth.¬†There is a time to play a character, of course, in order to keep the wheels of civilization running smoothly. But if you get lost in that character to the point that you forget your own innate wisdom, you become more shell than human. Only by embracing and expressing your inner wisdom will you evolve into the person you were meant to be.

That being said, please understand that one truth does not fit all. Your truth may open you up to criticism or judgments that seem harsh or unkind. Treasured myths may dissolve, leaving you and those around you scrambling to create a new sense of normal. Be as fair as possible, and take the viewpoint of others into consideration when making your stand. Your truth may be your truth, but their truth is also their truth.

Civilization exists because we are wise enough to know that there has to be some balance between meeting our own needs and honoring the needs of others. As a society, we have been struggling with this for a long time. But thanks to the evolution of communication and the willingness of so many individuals to learn and grow, we are in a strong place to transform our society for the better.

Trust that the foundation we have built will hold. Trust that there is goodness in people, and that despite our differences, we all want basically the same thing–a world that is safe, happy, healthy, and peaceful.

Today, I believe that goal is completely possible.
