If the winds of change are freaking you out, and the sun seems to have disappeared behind a dark and forbidding cloud bank, take a step back and breathe. We do seem to be living in “interesting times,” and the more sensitive among us may be struggling to keep our heads above water. These are growth pangs, and growth is not easy. While it’s true there is no guarantee of any specific outcome in this time of chaos, nothing will be served by panic, recklessness, or despair.
You’ll note a fourth card in this week’s spread. Sometimes, a card will simply jump out of the deck while I’m shuffling, so determined to get its message across that it can’t wait patiently to be heard. The Princess of Swords (often called the Watchman) has nudged her way to the front of the deck this week with a reminder that sometimes its best to be quiet and observant before taking action.
This week, give yourself the gift of a pause–even if it’s only a few minutes a day. Examine your own motives as well as observing those of others. Take a deep breath, clarify your intentions, meditate, and let the chaos rage without you for a while. It’s still going to be there when you get back, but you will be stronger and more prepared for having taken that break.
